What ignited the spark in you to come up with The Corporate Awards?

I would describe myself as a change agent. One of the things I love to do most in life is to find a gap and fill it. After my MA in HR, I worked in different HR-related capacities and spent a good number of years in policies. During this time, I realised how important it was for organisations to clearly communicate HR policies to facilitate a better working relationship.

I came to realise that most companies in Cameroon have the minimum in place but very few go the extra mile to develop and implement policies with employees at heart. Also, there was little or no benchmark. Most companies in Cameroon pick up People Management awards overseas. With this preoccupation, I began to consider the possibility of an initiative that would not only help create a benchmark and recognize excellence in Cameroon, but that will equally be the catalyst for companies benefitting from shared knowledge, hence promoting growth and setting up excellent processes. I then decided to work with a team of corporate executives to organise a research process and a recognition award to appreciate excellence in people management in our local community with international standard and support. We tapped into their expertise for detail information on corporate policies and best practices standards on people management.
